Born in New York but raised in New Jersey, the artist began to pursue photography at the age of 15.  After completing a photo essay entitled "the town drunk," he was accepted into the Gallery of Phillip's Mill for a group show.  He continued to work documenting his small town America completing essays on the characters that surrounded him.  The morbidly obese, the elderly, the mentally handicapped and his young hoodlum friends all provided an inexhaustable source of material.  At the age of 19 he took a four month photographic journey through Europe and Morrocco.  The following year Louis moves to Buenos Aires to pursue his studies.  He begins to work photographing plays in "El Teatro Santa Maria" as well as putting together portfolios for publicity models.  It is in Buenos Aires that he studies darkroom technique with Juan Carlos Villa Real, and lighting with celebrated fashion photographers Tono Pafundi and Carlos Mei of the Instituto Fotografico Argentino.  He currently studies Film and Media Arts and Temple University in Philadelphia.
